About the Hike:
This hike takes you inside the longest intact lava tube in the continental United States. Learn about the unique features, life and formation of a lava tube as we take an interpretive hike to the cave. There are two hiking options for this trip. The lower cave is the easiest and most popular route where you will enjoy seeing a lava ball wedged in the ceiling of the cave. The upper cave is for the more adventurous. The upper cave route takes you over an 8 ft. lava fall and large rock piles.
Skill Level:
Easy to Moderate
**Rare Earth Adventures will make every attempt to follow the trip itinerary. However, this itinerary is subject to change due to group dynamics, unsafe weather and/or route conditions, or other reasons beyond our control.
Equipment Recommendations (warm clothing for the cave…)
