Blue Glacier Itinerary
Day 1: From the Hoh River Trailhead, we’ll hike 11 miles through temperate rainforest to our campsite at Lewis Meadows. After a snack, we’ll set up camp and go over glacier travel skills.
Day 2: From Lewis Meadows, we’ll hike to our second campsite on the Blue Glacier. Here, we will review glacier travel skills and prepare or summit bags for the next day’s summit.
Day 3: Following an early morning start, we will summit Blue Glacier and the Snow Dome where we will enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean and the Olympic Mountains. Then, we will head back to our campsite on the Blue Glacier.
Day 4: From Blue Glacier, we’ll make our descent as we hike 6-7 miles to Glacier Meadows. We should arrive around noon. We will enjoy lunch, set up camp and explore the area for the rest of the evening.
Day 5: After breaking down camp, we’ll head back to the Hoh River Trailhead to our vehicle and should be back at Rare Earth Adventures by 5:00 p.m.
